For Erin Price, America Reads has been more than just a service opportunity but a reminder of how education and compassion can change lives.

Through her role at Impact Alamance and the success of the Active Alamance app, Nicole McGinty '23 exemplifies how the values of leadership, compassion, and a commitment to community well-being, nurtured at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ extend far beyond graduation

Through the membership, students volunteer at least three times per semester and participate in the Institutes for Civic and Community Engagement, monthly gatherings designed to deepen understanding of local needs and build leadership skills.

The workshops bring students together to explore pressing social issues, learn about campus programs addressing those challenges and discover how to collaborate to make a greater impact.

Each fall, members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community come together for the event to help fight food insecurity across the globe.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Elementary is launching its own student council and has teamed up with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s SGA for guidance, inspiration and collaboration.

Several students were recognized by the Kernodle Center for Civic Life for their commitment to community engagement and service.

By making service exploration more intentional, this tool empowers students to make a lasting impact while growing personally and professionally throughout their undergraduate experience and beyond.
