The Hon. Patricia Timmons-Goodson, a former associate justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as a federal district court judge, received ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s 2016 Leadership in the Law Award.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law faculty and staff will welcome students and their families to campus this weekend for mock classes, moot court demonstrations, and a silent auction to benefit scholarship funds.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law is hosting a Sept. 6 conversation with several thought leaders and legal practioners on the way women are portrayed in pop culture, with the recorded discussion to be distributed to media later this year via LST Radio.

Three former chief justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court - today members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law Board of Advisors - shared personal and career stories to new students enrolled in an August legal leadership class.

Associate Professor David S. Levine and Tim McFarlin, a Legal Method and Communication Fellow at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law, presented their scholarship at the 16th Annual Intellectual Property Scholars Conference.

The class participated in a private question-and-answer session with diplomats from each consulate, and students enjoyed robust and instructive conversations on topics of international law and policy.

With help from the university's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, Y Srai achieved a longtime goal on Aug. 19, 2016, when he took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America. 

The Eugenia H. Leggett-Frank Endowed Scholarship has been established in memory of a retired senior administrator whose dedication and commitment to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law contributed to the innovative, vibrant school it is today.

New students spent part of a day assisting local nonprofits and agencies with activities that helped improve the lives of people and animals in need across North Carolina's Piedmont Triad.

Antonette Barilla, director of Academic Support and Bar Preparation and a scholar of international law, will have her 2015 article on cultural diplomacy reprinted in a forthcoming “best of” edition of the American Bar Association’s GPSolo magazine.
