Please join us this Thursday as we kickoff a new year of College Chapel! Back by popular demand is our theme of “Defining Moments.” We will continue this semester to hear from speakers about how events in their lives have helped to define who they now are. We will be challenged to consider how past events – personal & public, positive & negative – have shaped and molded our present realities.

Thursday Chapel is a time and space to take a break from the busyness of the week and refresh the spirit. It is not a “worship service,” rather a time of reflection offered by a member of the ��Ƶ community or guest speaker. Music is provided each week by students and faculty from the Music department. Refreshments will be served following Chapel. All are welcome!

Smith joined the ��Ƶ staff in August 2006. He holds a B.A. in biology from UNC-Wilmington and Master of Divinity from the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University.

Paid Summer Position for this Summer – Work with Kids

Alamance Youth Leadership Academy (AYLA) is a one week leadership program for Middle Schoolers. The Center for Leadership needs 6-8 ��Ƶ Students to be Facilitators for the summer program.

We will be holding an Info Session in Mooney 207. This will cover job description, dates, pay and cover any questions.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 30, 5:30 p.m.

Paid summer leadership opportunity working with middle school students

Want to gain some leadership experience this summer? The Center for Leadership is looking for four to six dedicated ��Ƶ students to work with youth in the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy.

The academy looks to empower middle school students through the connections of civic engagement and leadership development in Alamance County. It will be held from Sunday, June 20, to Wednesday, June 23. One training session will be held on Saturday, June 19.

The job requires a weeklong commitment, but is worth your efforts. Leaders are paid for their work. You’ll help a group of 10-12 middle school students improve their leadership skills. As their mentor, you can truly make a difference.

FCA Fellowship of Christian Athletes Meeting

This Wednesday, Sept 16 @ 8 p.m., Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having its first general meeting of the year. We will be meeting in Oaks Commons 201.

Freshmen and underclassmen who have never been before are encouraged to come out and see what it is all about. We hope to see you there.

“The Great Escape” with the Truitt Center – Nov. 14-15

The Truitt Center invites you to a weekend retreat on Friday, Nov. 14, at Camp Weaver just outside of Greensboro, N.C.

This is an opportunity to escape from the hectic pressures of school and enjoy a 24-hour stress-free weekend.

The Retreat begins at 4 p.m. and we will return on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. Transportation is provided.

The cost is $20 which saves your spot.
