Defining Moments of the 20th Century – Phil Smith, Associate University Chaplain and Director of Religious Life
Music: Ben Pinder ’13, pianist

Please join us this Thursday as we kickoff a new year of College Chapel! Back by popular demand is our theme of “Defining Moments.” We will continue this semester to hear from speakers about how events in their lives have helped to define who they now are. We will be challenged to consider how past events – personal & public, positive & negative – have shaped and molded our present realities.

Thursday Chapel is a time and space to take a break from the busyness of the week and refresh the spirit. It is not a “worship service,” rather a time of reflection offered by a member of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community or guest speaker. Music is provided each week by students and faculty from the Music department. Refreshments will be served following Chapel. All are welcome!

Smith joined the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ staff in August 2006. He holds a B.A. in biology from UNC-Wilmington and Master of Divinity from the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University.
