On Sunday May 8, the ��Ƶ Flute Ensemble, under the direction of LInda Cykert, adjunct instructor in music, performed a Disney Music Concert at the Greensboro Children’s Museum.

Senior Lecturer Polly Butler Cornelius (voice), Adjunct Instructor Linda Cykert (flute), and Associate Professor and Chair Hallie Coppedge Hogan (voice) from the ��Ƶ Department of Music plus pianist Charles Hogan performed the inaugural evening concert at the historic James Monroe House in Washington, D.C. (Arts Club of Washington D.C.) on Jan. 31,2020.

The club has promoted the arts for more than 100 years and was the first art club in the city.

This faculty recital features guest Los Angeles composer/guitarist Christopher Caliendo’s compositions. Caliendo has written more than 500 pieces in styles including American Tangos, American Gypsy, Chamber Jazz, Classical Jazz and World Music.

He also writes for films and has worked with Bob Hope, David Newman, Henry Mancini and The Manhattan Transfer.

The event is free and no tickets are required.
