ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ senior Tyler Anderson wrote major portions of the code for a new iPhone/iPod Touch application released by the Iconfactory, a graphic design and software firm based in Greensboro, N.C. The application was approved by Apple for distribution on its iTunes App Store on Oct. 13, following a rigorous quality review for compliance on Apple's mobile devices.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students use Skype to connect with their peers in Iraq

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ sociology and global studies students used Skype technology on Oct. 20 to hold a 90-minute conversation with students at Dijlah University College in Baghdad, Iraq. The session was the brainchild of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ sociology professor Tom Arcaro and Ahmed Fadaam, a sculptor/journalist from Baghdad who has visited ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ in the past.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine has ranked ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ among the nation’s top 50 best values in private higher education and the #9 university in lowest total costs, a distinction published in the magazine’s December edition. The 2010-11 ranking is the fifth consecutive top-50 placement of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ by Kiplinger’s.

Terrell Hudgins ’10 honored prior to Family Weekend football game

Former ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Phoenix football standout receiver Terrell Hudgins was honored with the retirement of his jersey prior to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s October 2 game. Standing at mid-field, Hudgins received a framed jersey from Dave Blank, director of athletics. The crowd responded with a standing ovation in recognition of Hudgins' football achievements.
