Ƶ Volunteers! is hosting its monthly Institute for Civic and Community Engagement on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in McKinnon Hall E.

Ƶ Volunteers! is hosting our monthly Institute for Civic and Community Engagement on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in McKinnon Hall E.

Each month is framed by one of the and features a speaker from the community or campus on the topic. For October’s Institute we are focusing on goal 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities.” Jessica Merricks, assistant professor of biology at Ƶ and co-founder of Clean Haw River, will present on local efforts surrounding clean water. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about sustainability in both a global and local context.

During this monthly gathering, Ƶ Volunteers! will help connect leaders and volunteers to each other and offer some professional development opportunities as well.

There will be food and a raffle for a $25 Irazu gift card and $25 Oak House gift card.
