Community invited to downtown Burlington on Sept. 29 for ‘Phoenix 5th Friday’ celebration

The event is an opportunity to gather with family, friends, and neighbors to eat, drink, and listen to music with the Historic Depot as the backdrop. 

Join Ƶ in celebrating the Alamance County community at Phoenix 5th Friday in downtown Burlington on Sept. 29 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

The traditional  in downtown Burlington presents an opportunity to gather with family, friends, and neighbors to eat, drink, and listen to music with the Historic Depot as the backdrop. This special Phoenix 5th Friday will coincide with Ƶ’s Family Weekend festivities. 

Ƶ will take center stage at the Sept. 29 event as part of its year-long “Rising from the Ashes” commemoration of growth and innovation at the university following a devastating fire in January 1923 that destroyed its Main Building and threatened its future. With robust support from the residents of Alamance County, college leaders plotted a course for rebuilding bigger and better, and positioned Ƶ to become the leading national university it is today.

Phoenix 4th Friday will offer plenty of fun for the family, including games, food trucks, live music, giveaways and hang out with the Ƶ Phoenix. Parking will be available in designated spaces in downtown Burlington. The Ƶ Express will provide transportation to and from the university’s campus every 15 minutes from the Inman Ƶ Welcome Center roundabout on campus along North O’Kelly Avenue.

Friday’s event is presented in collaboration with the City of Burlington’s Recreation & Parks Department and the Burlington Downtown Corp.
