The Key Reporter, the news publication of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society, recently highlighted the role that Provost Steven House played in securing a chapter at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.
"I don't think people really thought it could be done, but we set our mind to it," House told the publication. "It took a while, but we got it done. You don't just decide tomorrow you want to be excellent. You have to strive to do it over a long period of time."
House, who recently announced he will conclude his service as provost at the end of the year, has said that partnering with faculty to achieve a Phi Beta Kappa chapter is one of his proudest accomplishments.
