ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ student presents at AACRAO Annual

Andrew Novinski '19 presented on his experience with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's gap semester program at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Officers conference.

Andrew Novinski ’19, a research assistant in the Office of the University Registrar, presented his undergraduate research at the annual conference of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Officers, held in Orlando, Florida March 25 – 28.

Novinski’s research, titled “The Gap Experience: The Importance of Experiential Education”, detailed his participation in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s gap fall semester experience before arriving on campus for Winter Term 2015. He shared a unique student perspective on how the gap semester shaped his college experience and what lessons could be drawn to maintain a successful program. He also shared with attendees academic and social challenges faced when students transition to their first semester on campus and how institutions can alleviate some of these barriers.

Novinski stood out at the annual meeting as the only student to present an educational session.
