Students win state vocal competition

The students competed at the N.C. National Association of Teachers of Singing classical vocal competition on Feb. 16.

Five ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students competed at the N.C. National Association of Teachers of Singing classical vocal competition at the UNC School of the Arts in Winston Salem on Feb. 16.

All ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students were winners in their respective categories and qualified to compete at the regionals which will be held in Virginia this  2018. Julia Towner and Janelle Deal, college women; Maxine Prissert, college men; Emily Trainor, college women; Tres McMichael, Hal Leonard Spiritual category. Staff Billy Summers, Carla Ely, and Freshi accompanied the students.

All are voice students of Polly Cornelius, senior lecturer in music.
