The ISSOTL 2017 conference took place Oct. 11-14 in Calgary, Canada. Members of ISSOTL’s Advocacy and Outreach Committee presented a session on for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), which referenced the Center for Engaged Learning’s YouTube channel, “CELatÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ.” SoTL scholars have nicknamed the channel “The Netflix of SoTL.”
CEL’s YouTube channel currently has 129 videos, many of which are organized into 17 playlists, featuring topics such as an Introduction to SoTL, Assessment in Higher Education, Global Learning, Residential Learning Communities, and Mentoring Undergraduate Research. Popular videos on the channel include: ; ; ; and .
The channel has more than 57,500 views by people in 167 different countries, and several videos are now featured in professional development modules created by centers for teaching around the world.
Jessie Moore, director of the Center for Engaged Learning, conducts the interviews and edits content for the videos. Ryan Witt, lecturer in communications, recorded most of the interviews and completed the technical editing. Ted Morée, video producer, now assists with this role.
