School of Communications leads nation in number of UNC PhDs

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Communications is home to more Ph.D. graduates from UNC’s School of Media and Journalism than any other program in the nation – a fact discovered as the UNC school celebrates 50 years of doctoral education.

As part of its , the UNC School of Media and Journalism has planned a two-day celebration on April 21-22 commemorating more than a half-century of doctoral education in mass communication.

While researching the academic homes of its Ph.D. graduates, UNC learned that 13 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ faculty members earned doctorates from UNC’s School of Media and Journalism (formerly the School of Journalism and Mass Communication). This is more than any other institution in the nation.
