Music Theatre students at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ sing at the Carolina Theatre of Durham alongside Broadway star Kristin Chenowith

On Saturday, January 30, twelve music theatre majors at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ had the amazing opportunity to sing alongside seasoned Broadway star, Kristin Chenowith. “An Evening With Kristin Chenowith” was the Carolina Theatre of Durham’s 90 Anniversary Celebration Concert.
Mary-Mitchell Campbell, a very successful Broadway musical director and conductor, was in charge of finding local singers to perform as back-up vocalists for a few of Chenowith’s songs in her concert. Upon hearing about the well-respected reputation of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s music theatre program, Campbell asked professor Catherine McNeela, head of the Music Theatre program, if she could put together a group of students to sing in the concert.
