ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's top runner won his fifth straight meet on Nov. 1 with a school record at the Colonial Athletic Association championship meet in Boston, Mass.

Senior cross country standout Luis Vargas captured the Championship on Nov. 1, giving ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ its first conference title in its inaugural year in the CAA. Vargas ran a blistering 8K time of 24:11.36, setting a new school record and claiming the conference designation as Most Outstanding Performer.
As a team, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ men took third place in the six-team field. Senior Ari Rothschild finished fifth with a new personal-record time of 25:12.28. Junior Ryan Gwaltney was next for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ with his time of 26:29.73 in 27th followed by senior Adam Bernstein in 29th at his time of 26:32.56. Sam Geha (37th, 26:52.78) and Reed Payne (38th, 27:02.68) rounded out the Phoenix squad. Wiliam & Mary took the men’s team title for the 15th straight season.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ will be back in action on Nov. 8, with a few members of the team competing at the NC State Three Stripe Invitational. The Phoenix will then compete at the NCAA Southeast Regionals on Nov. 14 in Louisville, Ky.
