The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students met with 1,000 PRSSA members during Fall Break and had opportunities to learn about public relations professionals and to network and make contacts for the future.
The Public Relations Student Society of America is a national organization with more than 11,000 members and 344 chapters in the United States, Colombia and Peru.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has one local PRSSA chapter formed by about 80 members, one of which is currently PRSSA’s national president. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ senior Heather Harder was ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ PRSSA’s president before becoming national vice-president of member services and, finally, this year, national president. Harder also attended the conference.
In D.C., ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students Windle, Poupart and Haley were able to attend sessions led by recognized professionals in the industry, participated in career development trainings, and networked with peer public relations students and public relations practitioners from different fields. They also had the opportunity to attend a few sessions of the Public Relations Society of America’s International Conference.
