More than a dozen ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ programs & student organizations are taking part in a free downtown Burlington community festival from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, with transportation to and from the McMichael Science Center parking lot.

Join us at the 3rd annual Active City Streets on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Active City Streets is a free community festival in downtown Burlington supporting healthy and active lifestyles. The event includes live performances, food trucks, vendors, exercise classes, and more!
The Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement is collaborating with Burlington’s Recreation and Parks Department and many other community organizations to help organize the event. This is the first year ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is an offical collaborator and organizer in Active City Streets, signifying the university’s growing commitment to the community and its efforts in encouraging ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students to connect with greater Burlington.
In the first year of partnership ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has more than 12 groups participating, including:

- ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Finest
- Laughelongs
- Flight of the Phoenix, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Ballroom Dance Team
- Steele Smiths
- Win Stuff (ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Student Television)
- Loy Farm
- Campus Kitchen
- Sparks
- Global Medical Brigade
- World percussion ensemble
