Club Tennis is headed to Surprise, Ariz., in April for a national tournament.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ had two teams (A & B) compete in February in the USTA Southern Sectional Championships in Auburn, Ala. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ went undefeated until the championship match against UNC. Christian Smoke and Will Hemminger beat the UNC men’s doubles team in a tiebreak, Chandler McCray beat his singles opponent 6-2 and Ian MacInnes and Kate Sims came back from a 1-4 deficit to win 6-4 and force overtime. Unfortunately, they came two games short of winning it all, but were still able to receive a bid to the National Championship in Arizona!
Even though the B team struggled a little bit throughout the tournament they ended the weekend with back-to-back wins.
