LSB welcomes new director of undergraduate programs

Stacy Outlaw joins the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ community this month as the director of undergraduate programs for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.

Outlaw comes to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a senior academic advisor for seven years, advising over 16,000 students in the college of arts and sciences program.

Prior to UNC-Chapel Hill, Outlaw completed an internship in academic advising at Emory University and practicum work at Appalachian State University and a local community college.

Outlaw’s responsibilities in her new role include mentoring ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Enactus chapter (formerly known as SIFE) and the Business Learning Community, further developing the LSB’s Executive-in-Residence series, and assisting the Porter Family Professional Development Center meet the professional development needs of business students.

“When you come into a new environment,” Outlaw said, “you just want to learn all you can. Everyone in the LSB and at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ have been great and really helpful and supportive.”

She is currently focusing on adapting to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s culture and looks forward to working with business students and collaborating with other offices on campus.

Outlaw received a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, a master’s degree from Appalachian State and is currently working on her doctorate at North Carolina State University.
