Sandra Weiss, a senior math education major, was recognized as the Outstanding Mathematics Education Student for the Central Region of North Carolina on Oct. 25, at the annual conference of the N.C. Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Weiss is an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Honors Fellow from Atlanta, Georgia. A President’s List student, Weiss is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, academic honor society, and Pi Mu Epsilon, mathematics honorary society.
As a recipient, she received a plaque and cash award for her outstanding achievements in, contributions to, and participation in the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Mathematics Education Program. Fifteen ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students have received this award since 1986, the most recent in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
