The Office of Sustainability’s November theme is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! We invite the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community to focus on making sustainable choices. To make this commitment, we suggest the following:
-Recycle any electronics. Many are already banned from the landfill in North Carolina, and Physical Plant will assist with any university-owned equipment.
-If you must buy new items, aim for those without extra packaging.
-Recycle on campus! The university offers recycling for paper, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, plastic (#1, #2, #5), glass (clear, brown, green, and blue), cans (aluminum and steel/tin), batteries, printer cartridges and small electronic items.
– To reduce your impact, purchase paper that contains recycled content. Paper products made with recycled content save trees, water and energy.
