Trustee emeritus Elmon T. Gray died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011.
There will be a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the chapel on the campus of Virginia Military Institute.
Gray, a 1946 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, served on the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Board of Trustees from 1990 until 1999 before being named trustee emeritus. He served five terms in the Virginia Senate from 1972-1992.
Gray and his wife, Pamela, made a substantial gift to name the Gray pavilion, home of the political science department, in honor of his grandparents, Ella Darden and Elmon Lee Gray.
