Enrichment program connects DPT students with area children

Forty first-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students joined 26 elementary children on July 14 for a morning of fun and physical activity as part of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Academy, a partnership between ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ and the Alamance-Burlington School System that focuses on helping exceptional children in grades K-8 develop and maintain academic and behavioral skills they need to be successful in their learning.
Board of Trustees approves physician assistant master’s program

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees has approved the establishment of a master of science program in physician assistant studies. The board's vote at its Oct. 22-23 fall meeting will launch ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s sixth graduate program.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's new master of science program in physician assistant (PA) studies will be located on the university's main campus. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's board of trustees made the decision in a special vote on Jan. 5, following more than two months of study and fundraising efforts.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's board of trustees voted April 15 to establish a new School of Health Sciences, serving graduate students in the existing doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program along with students in the new physician assistant (PA) studies master's program, which will enroll its first class in January 2013.
