Katherine Poole '72 shared the story of one of her ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ classmates, Tom Bass '67, in a Veterans' Day guest column for the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News in November. The column touched on Bass' service during the Vietnam War, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal, and offered his advice for today's soldiers and veterans.
Bass and his wife, Sandra, both graduates ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Class of 1967, live in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. Their son, Thomas Bass III, is a 1994 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumnus. Poole lives in Gibsonville, N.C., with her husband, Carl, a 1969 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ graduate.
