ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. Appalachian State, (Loss)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. NC State, (Win)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ had a learning weekend to help establish freshmen understanding of the game. Nothing too significant went on. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ used a lot of subs with the new players to allow them to obtain true experience in real games.

Women’s Volleyball
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. NC State
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. Winthrop
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. East Carolina
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. Duke University
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. Appalachian State
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Team 1 went three and three in pool play and went on to playoffs due to high point acquisition. Although they were then eliminated in the first round of playoffs, their point score put them ahead of the other team that got eliminated in the first round so they placed 5th. Team 2 went 2 and 4 in pool play and did not make it to the playoff round.

Women’s Soccer
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. UNC-Wilmington, 0-5 (Loss)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. College of Charleston, 0-5 (Loss)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ traveled to UNC Wilmington this weekend for a double header, but could not capitalize on any shots and came away with two losses. In the first game against UNCW, goalie Marshall Babcock held her ground but UNCW managed to score. The team played College of Charleston immediately following and again took a loss, this time with Meghan Zapiec in the net. Center midfielder Amy Kenney helped direct the team throughout both games, providing positive encouragement. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ looks forward to playing another double header next weekend against Davidson and UNC Charlotte.

Men’s Rugby
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. Alumni, 10-39 (Loss)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ had a well-played game in the first half. The alumni scored two early tries, with the current team coming back with a try by David Carroll and another by Britton Brown to make it 24-10 by halftime. After halftime, however, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Alums took over and scored three tries to seal the victory. Overall, it was a very fun game for both sides.

Golf
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, Wake Forest University, UNC-Wilmington, East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, 7th (Last)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ did not play very well at this two-day tournament. Unfortunately, three of their players failed to show up for the second day of play, resulting in a poor performance for the team as a whole. However, Mike Hermanson did have a good score of 74 for the weekend.

Men’s Lacrosse
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. NC State 10-6 (Win)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ proved to be too tough on both ends of the field for the Wolfpack. Great turnout by both teams for the Homecoming game. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ held a 6-2 lead at halftime. A series of substitutions narrowed the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ lead during the fourth quarter to 8-6, and the starters returned to ensure the victory. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ was dominant at the faceoff (thanks to Brett Bennett and Andres Mendoza), leading to many offensive possessions. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ had solid play in goal from Mike Meglio and Tyler Reighley.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ vs. UNC Greensboro, 5-2 (Win)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ proved to be too strong against an undermanned UNCG team. Andy Fargnoli led the team with 2 goals, and Matt Love and Michael Pacicco each contributed a goal. Despite the talent gap, both teams played with great attitudes and class. Everyone received playing time.
