Trustee Burney Jennings to give Legends of Business address in Love School of Business Sept. 15

Maurice Jennings ‘57, founder of Biscuitville restaurant and Burney Jennings ‘87, Biscuitville president, will be featured as the Love School of Business Legends of Business speakers on Wednesday, September 15, 4:30 pm. in the LaRose Digital Theatre. The event is open to all ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students, faculty, and staff. A reception will follow.

Maurice started Biscuitville in 1975 in Danville, Va. Today, Biscuitville has fifty stores in North Carolina and Virginia, and is led by Maurice’s son Burney. Burney will talk about the journey and growth of their restaurant business.

Maurice and Burney are longtime supporters of their alma mater. Burney currently serves on the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees. Maurice was awarded the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Medallion in 2006 for outstanding service to the university, and is a trustee emeritus.

The Legends of Business series brings retired CEOs to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ. Previous speakers include Kerrii Anderson ‘79, former CEO of Wendy’s International, John Zeglis, former chair and CEO of AT&T Wireless, and Robert A. Ingram, vice chair of GlaxoSmithKline. The program is funded through a gift by R. Cruse Lewis.
