Chris Fulkerson, assistant vice president for technology/CIO and Rhonda Belton, director of application technologies, presented at the National Datatel Users Group Conference at National Harbour in Maryland on March 30.
Their session, “The Need for a Security Audit,” discussed how institutions of higher education can benefit from a security audit using an external auditor. High level concepts from Ƶ’s recent security audit were highlighted as a roadmap for conducting a successful audit.
Fulkerson and Belton used findings from an Ƶ security audit conducted nine years ago and from the audit Ƶ completed last summer to illustrate how institutions can use audits to focus attention and resources for strengthening the security of the network and systems.
