A 2009 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumna will have a documentary she produced as a student broadcast this month on One Africa TV. Erin Barnett's film, "My Name is Anita," introduces viewers to Anita Isaacs, a former Periclean-in-Residence at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and an HIV/AIDS activist in Namibia.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert has received the 2010 Periclean Service Award from Project Pericles, the organization's highest honor. The award honors an individual for his or her visionary commitment to civic engagement and outstanding contributions to Project Pericles.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumnus Preston Williams Jr. ’09 was named one of four recipients of this year’s Diane Kent-Parker First Year Teacher Award in the Wake County Public School System, which serves more than 139,000 students in North Carolina’s second most populous county.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's School of Communications has been named the 2010 recipient of the national Equity and Diversity Award by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
