The state's celebration of open government is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16 in Greensboro at the newly opened International Civil Rights Center and Museum.

From the Wilmington StarNews (3/8/10): The mayors of southeast Brunswick County's six municipalities have started holding regular meetings in a renewed effort to hash out problems, lobby for projects and funds, and present a united front on issues of shared interest.

Lynn R. Heinrichs, associate professor of computing sciences and business, served as a panel moderator and workshop presenter at the 2010 meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute, Southwest Region (SWDSI) in Dallas, Texas, March 2-6.

Senior Julia Roberts, an ������Ƶ Honors Fellow, and Kim Jones, assistant professor of anthropology, published an article about access to HIV testing in Brazil in the fall/spring 2009 issue of Southern Anthropologist, a peer-reviewed journal of the Southern Anthropological Society.
