A Moravian Christmas Love Feast and Candle Service, a tradition brought from Germany to the United States centuries ago by settlers in North Carolina, is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Community Church.
The feast consists of a simple meal of sweet buns and coffee and features seasonal music, including selections rendered by bell choirs, the chancel choir, organ and oboe. A candlelight service forms the climax of this special celebration, as the congregation sings the traditional carol “Morning Star.”
The Love Feast service is held at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Community Church on Williamson Street. All members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community are welcome.
