James A. “Jay” Hendrickson has been elected to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ board of trustees.

Hendrickson graduated with a degree in business administration from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ in 1971 and is president and chief executive officer of Hendrickson Mechanical Services, Inc., of Raleigh, N.C., a company he founded in 1993.
Hendrickson and wife Amy, a 1969 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ alumna, are long-time supporters of the university. Both are charter members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Phoenix Club IMPACT Circle and members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Board of Visitors. Amy Hendrickson is chair of the Phoenix Club Advisory Board.
In December 2007, the Hendricksons made a $1 million gift to name the Hendrickson Football Center, planned for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s North Athletics Complex, in honor of Jay’s father, Horace J. Hendrickson, one of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s all-time great coaches.
Hendrickson will be sworn in as a member of the board of trustees at the fall meeting, scheduled for Oct. 10-11.
