The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Board of Visitors added ten new members at its spring meeting held April 10-11 on campus. Read this note for details...
The new members include the following:
• Hugh and Virginia Cummings of Burlington, N.C.
• Robert and Helen Ellington of Burlington, N.C.
• Tom and Ivy Mitchell of Newport News, Va.
• Robin and Katherine Team of Lexington, N.C.
• Greg and Laura VanDerwerker of Kiawah Island, S.C.
The board also elected officers for the 2008-09 year. They include the following:
• Alva S. McGovern, Atlanta, Ga., chair
• Clifford B. Hardy, Jr., Tampa, Fla., vice chair and chair, student development committee
• Paul H. Amundsen, Tallahassee, Fla., chair, university relations committee
• J. Harvey White, Knoxville, Tenn., chair, development committee
• Linda C. Kelley, Burlington, N.C., chair, events committee
• Russell R. Wilson, Burlington, N.C., chair, membership committee
The Board of Visitors initiates and conducts programs and activities for the advancement of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. Board members recommend ways to strengthen the university, serve as volunteer representatives of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, utilize their diverse technical, professional and business talents to advise the university, and identify and secure financial and volunteer support for the university.
