Polar Bear Plunge brrr-ings out a crowd

Who would be crazy enough to splash through Lake Mary Nell on a day that would make a snowman shiver? Easy. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students in search of gift cards to local shops and restaurants. The annual Polar Bear Plunge took place on campus Jan. 22, 2008, with nearly three dozen people braving the frigid air for a chance at winning prizes.

“Education Day” brings fifth-graders to campus for basketball victory

Hundreds of fifth-graders from a half dozen Alamance County schools took part in the 4th annual “Education Day with the Phoenix” this week, where they learned a little geography, math and fitness before watching the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ women’s basketball team top Presbyterian.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students raise money for charities

Students studying leisure and sports management at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ raised $10,000 during the fall with fundraisers and volunteer service for various causes, including the North Carolina Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association and the Open Door Clinic of Alamance County.
