ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ receives NC Student Legislature award

At the 70th annual session of the North Carolina Student Legislature, April 19-22 in Raleigh, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ was chosen to receive the Best Small University Delegation Award for the 2006-2007 year.  Sophomore political science major Bobby Chamberlain was elected attorney general for the coming academic year, and Clark Riemer, a senior political science major, completed his term as the elected NCSL Governor.  Sixteen students from the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ delegation attended the annual session.

The NCSL is a model state legislature that debates public policy issues at weekly delegation meetings on campus and monthly state-wide meetings.  Its alumni include several North Carolina governors and members of the General Assembly, and Professor of Chemistry and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Emeritus, Dr. J. Earl Danieley.
