More than 200 athletes participated in the Special Olympics Spring Games Thursday, April 19 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s North Athletics complex. The event was staffed by more than 240 volunteers from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ as well as area schools and the local community. The athletes represented a variety of schools and agencies in Alamance County.
Events included:
• 25, 50, 100-meter walks and runs
• Softball throw
• Bat for distance
• Base run
• Standing long jump
• Tennis ball throw
• Wheelchair events
• Motor activities
• Clinics (table tennis, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, clown, massage, parachute games)
