ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's North Carolina Teaching Fellows program will host approximately 50 middle school students participating in ProTeam classes in Alamance County Thursday, March 21. Details...

The ProTeam program is designed for middle school students to help them develop self-awareness, cooperative social skills, knowledge about the teaching profession and strategies for goal setting.

The students will participate in a session titled “What is College Like?” from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., tour the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ campus from 11 a.m.-noon, and have lunch with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students from noon-1 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for everyone involved,” says Janice Richardson, associate director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Teaching Fellows program. “ProTeam allows ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students enrolled in the Teaching Fellows program to interact with middle school students. By touring campus and interacting with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students, these middle school students will begin to focus on their own college goals and plans.”
