More than 250 alumni, parents and friends of the university turned out for a special gathering held Nov. 20 in Washington, D.C. Details...
An “Evening for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ” was held at the Gannett corporate headquarters in Tyson’s Corner, and included tours of the USA Today newspaper offices. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ alumus Gary Evans ’74, director of circulation marketing for USA Today, made arrangements for the use of the facilities.
The event included a reception and an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ update presentation by President Leo M. Lambert. Other speakers included Nan Perkins, vice president for institutional advancement, and Mary Ruth, director of alumni/parent relations. Catering costs for the event were covered by a donation by trustee Mary Straub ’82.
Evening for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ events are sponsored by Institutional Advancement as a way for alumni, parents and friends of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ in cities distant from the campus to find out about current University news and keep in contact with one another.
