Jeanette Olli, a senior from Shrub Oak, N.Y., recently received the Outstanding Mathematics Education Student award from the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Olli, a math major who is seeking secondary teacher licensure, competed with mathematics education majors from other colleges and universities in central North Carolina. She has served as president of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s student chapter of NCCTM, has tutored both ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and secondary students in math and participated in the Student Undergraduate Research Experience.
Olli received a plaque and cash award and the math department received a plaque.
