The destruction of the building, which is being managed by D.H. Griffin Company of Greensboro, began Monday, July 9. Demolition and site cleanup efforts will last approximately two weeks.
Before East Building was acquired by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ in 1978, it served for many years as ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ High School.
Not included in the demolition project is East Gymnasium, which will continue to serve as a practice facility for Phoenix athletic teams and as a venue for other student activities.
