MBA team finishes 2nd in case competition

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ MBA team of Clay Beck, David Clark, Khosrow Hallaji and Jerry Sparrow took 2nd place honors during the recent 2005 North Carolina MBA Case Competition, the seventh straight year an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ team has placed among the winners. The announcement was made at a luncheon April 15 in Chapel Hill.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ team worked on a business proposal for Fancy Th@t Gifts and Decor of Greensboro, a cmopany recommended to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ team by Tom White, a 2003 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ MBA graduate.

This marks the seventh straight year an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ team has placed among the winners in this competition. During that same time period, only one other school has had top finishes more than two consecutive years.

Beck is a controller with Vietri, Inc.; Clark is sales and marketing manager with Antronix Distribution and Supply, Inc.; Hallaji is controller with Alamance Foods/Triton Water; and Sparrow is controller with Biscuitville, Inc.
