Walker gift endows Journal-in-Education program

Rear Admiral Ted Walker and his wife, Carol Ann, have made a $35,000 gift to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ to honor the U.S. Navy Supply Corp and to create the Rear Admiral and Mrs. Ted Walker Endowed Fund. The fund will support the Journal-In-Education program in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, providing Wall Street Journal subscriptions for juniors and seniors who are Jefferson Pilot Fellows.

The Walkers, of Alexandria, Va., have been strong supporters of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. Their daughters, Wendy L. Walker ’78 and Lynn W. Streett ’79, both graduated from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, and their grandson, David Streett, is an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ freshman. Ted Walker has been instrumental in recruiting nearly 40 students to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.
“ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ did a marvelous job educating our two daughters,” says Walker. “They came out wonderful young women and citizens. I’ve always felt that my investment in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ has more than paid for itself.”
