A Changing Landscape: Immigration Law in the 21st Century
A Symposium Analyzing the Evolving Nature and Reshaping of Immigration Law

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law, 201 N. Greene St., Greensboro, NC, 27401

Call for papers

Exploring borders, power, and the rule of law, immigration has been challenged with adapting to the changing landscape of today’s society.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review gladly welcomes all articles focusing on the overarching idea of immigration, but we strongly encourage any articles that specifically focus on the theories and ideas surrounding immigration in the 21st Century.

We further encourage any articles focusing on the vast intersection between Immigration Law and other facets of law. Potential areas of interest include, but are not limited to, border security/national security; local media and social media’s effect on immigration and its
consequences; economic effects; the Trump administration and policy reforms; influence over citizens’ personal rights and freedoms; and the intersection between Immigration Law and Family Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, etc.

The changing nature of Immigration Law in our society poses various, unanswered questions:

  • What are the effects on First Amendment Rights with the new immigration limitations?
  • How intertwined have Immigration Law and Criminal Law become (Crimmigration)?
  • How critical of a role does the changing nature of immigration have on our economy?

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review’s 2026 Symposium will provide a platform for engaging and robust discussions on these issues, bringing together legal scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and other influential leaders with hands-on experience. Selected submissions will have the opportunity to present at our symposium and may be considered for publication in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review Volume 19.
