Brief Biography
I am an Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Love School of Business, where I teach undergraduate and MBA courses in strategy and entrepreneurship.
Originally from Mexico, I earned my undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting and co-founded a hospitality business while still in college. After growing and successfully selling the venture, I moved to the United States for my graduate studies. I hold a Master’s in Strategic Management from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, an MBA from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, and a Ph.D. in Management and Organizational Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
My research explores the intersections of entrepreneurship, strategy, and organizational theory, with particular attention to entrepreneurial identity, decision-making, and the role of cultural and social capital. I am also passionate about experiential learning and the case method as tools for student engagement.
I serve on the board of Hustle USA, a faith-driven entreprenurial support organization, and on the Advisory Board of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in Kernersville, NC.
My wife, Pilar, and I have five children and a French bulldog. Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, rowing, road biking, making pizza from scratch, and playing board games. I am also a certified Master Mezcalier... think sommelier, but for mezcal.
