ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), offered through the School of Health Sciences, is founded on solid principles of science and research while integrating a hands-on clinical practicum to reinforce academic theory within the didactic classroom experience. The three-year, full-time program focuses on critical thinking, equitable health practices and community engagement. With an emphasis on holistic patient care and acknowledgement of the interconnectedness between physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ graduates leave the program as informed leaders in health care and compassionate, reflective global citizens.

CAPTE accreditation of a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program satisfies state educational requirements in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Thus, students graduating from CAPTE-accredited physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs are eligible to take the National Physical Therapy Examination and apply for licensure in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The program has determined that it does not meet all of the basic educational requirements for initial licensure by examination in Michigan. In addition to the National Physical Therapy Examination, Michigan requires training in identifying victims of human trafficking and implicit bias training. Â
